Reading your new "Digital" Meter

We recently installed a new digital meter at your residence.  This is part of our new Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) at Tri-County.  It allows us to read your meter every day directly from our office eliminating estimated reads. Below you’ll find a brief description on how to read your new meter.

 

The meter cycles through 3 different displays every 5 seconds.  This display, with a “DL” in the upper left corner, is showing  “kilo watt hours” or “KWh”.  The 2 lines under the “05” represent the rotating disk on the old mechanical meters.

 

The meter cycles through 3 different displays every 5 seconds.  This display, with a “VT” in the upper left corner, is showing  “Line Voltage” coming to the meter.  The 2 lines under the “21” represent the rotating disk on the old mechanical meters.

 

The meter cycles through 3 different displays every 5 seconds.  This display, with “888888”  showing  in the entire display, is an LCD check to verify that all parts of the digits are displaying properly. The 2 lines under the “88” represent the rotating disk on the old mechanical meters.
