District 1

Gerald A. Kite
Vice Chairman

Gerald A. Kite serves as District 1 director. A resident of Keating Township in Potter County, Kite serves on the Valley Energy and Citizens' Electric Company boards of director.

A retired innkeeper, he formerly owned and managed the Forest House Inn near Austin. Before purchasing the Forest House in 1988, Kite worked in the retail division of Exxon Corporation. Among other duties, he was manager of the petroleum company's Pennsylvania Turnpike plazas.

District 1 includes the following townships: Grove, Lumber, Liberty, Norwich, East Fork, Homer, Keating, Portage, Summit, Sylvania, and Wharton.

   
 
District 2

Ferd W. Irish

Ferd W. Irish has been growing and shipping potatoes from atop Denton Hill for over 38 years. In his terms as Tri-County director, he has attended various workshops and training programs to better meet the needs of Tri-County. Irish states, "I have both the time and desire to help plan and develop our cooperative for success in the future."

Irish is past Chairman of Tri-County and he continues to serve on the Citizens' Electric board. In addition to his tenure at Tri-County, Irish is active on the boards of the Potter, McKean and Cameron Farm Service Agency and Pennsylvania Cooperative Potato Growers Association.

District 2 includes the following townships: Hector, Pike, Ulysses, Alleghany, Sweden, Hebron, Eulalia, Clara, Pleasant Valley, and Roulette.

   
 
District 3

Nick Reitter

Nick Reitter is a retired professor from Alfred State College, where he taught electrical engineering technology. He also has work experience as an electrician and was project engineer for Steam Power Control Systems. My background provides me the opportunity to help Tri-County stay on the leading edge of new technology, he said. This can provide the members the best possible service in the most economical manner. 

Reitters community involvement has included serving on the Genesee Library board of directors, church treasurer, member of the Genesee Grange, assistant Scoutmaster, member of the Masonic Lodge #556, chairman of the board for Wonder Works, head of the Potter County 4-H Expansion and Review Committee, and teacher with the Potter County Educational Council. A Tri-County member for 27 years, Nick and his wife, Marjorie Ann, reside in Genesee and have seven grown children.

District 3 includes Harrison, Bingham, Genesee, Oswayo, Sharon, Westfield, Brookfield, and Ceres townships.

   
 
District 4

Chairman
James R. Davis of Farmington Township represents District 4 on the Tri-County board of directors.

Davis also serves on the boards of directors of Allegheny Electric Cooperative, Tri-County's wholesale power supplier, and National Cooperative Services Corporation, a national cooperative banking operation.

A managing partner of James Daniel Associates, an educational consulting firm, Davis is retired from the Northern Tioga School District, where he was assistant superintendent. During his career as a professional educator, Davis serves as a mathematics teacher, coach, counselor, principal and college professor. He serves as Farmington Township auditor and is a member of the River Valley Country Club board of directors.

Davis and his wife, Elaine, reside in Farmington Township. They have three grown sons.

District 4 includes Chatham, Deerfield, Elkland, Farmington, Middlebury, Nelson, Osceola, Shippen, Clymer, and Gaines townships
   
 
District 5

Barbara J. Seeley

Barbara J. Seeley is the director for district 5. Formerly a tester for Westinghouse and a housewife, she lives in Rutland Township. She has many years of experience as a Tri-County director. She currently serves as the cooperative's chairperson of the board, a post she has held since 2009.

"I am part of a dairy farm operation, so I know how important it is to make good decisions," Seeley explains. "We are searching for ways to lower the wholesale power costs. My aim is to continue to strive to have reliable service at the lowest cost possible."

Seeley also sits on the Board of Directors for Wellsboro Electric Company and C&T Enterprises.

A sport enthusiast, she was inducted into the Tioga County Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to belonging to the East Sullivan Grange, she acts as township election judge and is active in the United Women's Fellowship for Roseville United Methodist Church.

District 5 includes the following townships: Wells, Jackson, Lawrence, Richmond, Rutland, and Tioga.

   
 
District 6

Alfred G. Calkins
Alfred G. Calkins is a full-time dairy farmer and director from Area 6. Active in local, state and national Holstein associations, Calkins is well known in local farming groups. He is an avid sportsman. Other hobbies include archery and trap shooting. Al and his wife Sharon have been married for 36 years and have two married sons, Ryan and Randy, one grand daughter and two more grandchildren due this summer.

Calkins states, "I believe that I have the vision to help Tri-County maintain stable rates and keep the cooperative financially sound through decisions made by the board. I want to be able to put Tri-County in a competitive position for the future electric market place."

Calkins is also President of C and T Enterprises, and a serves as a director for Wellsboro Electric Company.

District 6 includes Armenia, Columbia, Granville, Troy, Springfield, West Burlington, Sullivan, and Ward townships.
   
 
District 7

Alston A. Teeter Secretary/Treasurer
Alston A. Teeter, represents District 7 on the cooperative's board of directors.

He currently serves as secretary/treasurer of the Tri-County board and had served as Tri-County's chairman of the board from 1989 to 1993. He is also a past chairman of the board of directors for Allegheny Electric Cooperative, Tri-County's wholesale power supplier. Teeter also serves on the boards of directors of C&T Enterprises and Citizens' Electric Co.

Active in his church, Teeter is a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and a director of the Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority. He and his wife, Jenny, own and operate a heifer replacement farm near Milan in Bradford County. They have three grown children.

District 7 includes members residing in Athens, Ridgebury, Smithfield, South Creek and Ulster townships.
   
 
District 8

Donald H. Blackwell

Donald H. Blackwell has been a Tri-County member for more than 40 years and has served as Area 8 director since 1977.

Blackwell is a board member for C and T Enterprises and Wilderness Area Utilities. Blackwell and his wife Martha have three sons. Blackwell is retired from Tioga County, where he served as Chief Clerk.

"During my tenure as director, I have worked to stabilize Tri-County's member rates. With a deregulated utility environment in Pennsylvania, there are many challenges and opportunities for us," states Blackwell. "I am happy to continue working for you and be a part of the Tri-County team--directors and employees--who are "People You Can Count On."

Townships for district 8 include Brown, Cogan House, Cummings, McHenry, Pine, Lewis, McIntyre, Liberty, Morris, Union, and Jackson.

   
 
District 9

Lowell W. Geiser

Lowell W. Geiser of Galeton was appointed to the Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative board of directors on Aug. 28, 2007. He represents District 9, which serves members in Abbott, Stewardson, and West Branch townships in Potter County; Elk Township in Tioga County; East Keating and Leidy townships in Potter County.

A lifelong resident of Potter County, Geiser, 49, is a partner in Forest View Evergreen Tree Farms, a family business started by his grandfather in 1928.

A graduate of Galeton Area High School, Geiser was a volunteer with the Germania Fire Co. for 18 years and served as the companys president for several years. He served as an Abbot Township supervisor for six years, and worked in the maintenance department at St. Marys Carbon Co. for eight years. He has been a member of Tri-County since 1985. He is a deacon with the First Baptist Church of Galeton.
