James Davis Retains Seat on Tri-County Rural Electric Board

MANSFIELD, PA (October 28, 2003) - Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative members have elected Dr. James R. Davis to represent District 4 on the cooperative's board of directors.

Davis, a resident of Farmington Township, was returned to the co-op board by the membership. Election results were announced Tuesday, Oct. 28, when the cooperative reconvened its annual meeting.

Davis tallied 310 votes to defeat challengers Duane Stafford of Sabinsville and Henry Wood of Middlebury Center. Stafford registered 224 votes, and Wood collected 174 votes.

Davis will continue serving as District 4 director for the balance of a three-year term that began July 12, 2003. Davis was appointed to the board in the spring of 2001 to fulfill a vacancy as a result of Wood's removal from the board.
A managing partner of James Daniel Associates, an educational consulting firm, Davis is retired from the Northern Tioga School District, where his most recent post was assistant superintendent.

Nine directors comprise Tri-County's board of directors. Each represents a specific area within the utility's service territory. District 4 includes members in the Tioga County townships of Chatham, Deerfield, Elkland, Farmington, Middlebury, Nelson, Osceola, Shippen, Clymer and Gaines. Directors serve three-year terms. Elections take place on a rotating basis, with three of the co-op's nine districts voting each year.

Directors are responsible for developing co-op policies and long-range plans. They voice members' concerns and make recommendations to Tri-County's management staff.

Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative, a consumer-owned, non-profit utility, provides electricity to more than 17,800 members in Tioga, Potter, Bradford, Lycoming, Clinton, McKean and Cameron counties.
