Rules for the 2011 NRECA Rural Electric Youth Tour
1. Contest is open to any high school junior (2010-2011 school year) whose parents or legal guardians are members of Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative.
2. Draft a letter to an elected official about something in which you are interested. You may choose to write in favor or against an issue. The issue may pertain to a local, state or national issue, and should be directed to the appropriate elected official, e.g., a county commissioner or school board director, state representative or federal congressman.
3. Your letter must be typed.
4. Complete the Youth Tour Application and staple it to your essay. Also be sure to include a wallet-size photograph of yourself. Mail to: Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative, Attn: Bryan Berguson, P.O. Box 526, Mansfield, PA 16933.
5. Entries must be received by Friday, February 25, 2011

After reviewing the applications and letters, Tri-County will select six Youth Tour delegates. They will be notified by March 10, 2011. The Youth Tour delegates will be eligible for special scholarship opportunities, and the top-scoring delegate will compete with other candidates from Pennsylvania co-ops for the chance to represent the state at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's 2011 Annual Meeting.

7. The decision of the judges is final.
